I'm jealous because she got to go to concerts at the age of 13.
I had to be home by 10 PM every night

The Smiths was the first real concert I ever went to. I lobbied for WEEKS and WEEKS to go and see them. My mum and dad would only let me go if I went with my brother (who at the time was 18 - it cost me 2 albums and 2 weeks of doing his chores). I had to promise not talk to anyone but my brother, not leave my brother's side, do exactly as he told me to do without any questions asked and to leave the venue as soon as the concert finished. My mum came to pick me up outside at about 11pm if memory serves - it was very very uncool!
But it was all well worth it I must have behaved because they were reasonably relaxed when I asked to go again!

Great story mancsoulsister
I love it
The only way I got out after 10PM was making a dummy of me in my bed and pulling the blankets over it and crawling out the window

The finest venue for the finest violence. |
Sound Academy is crapola. |
BAH! What concerts have you seen there?
I've been to pretty much every venue in the city and the SA remains my favourite pick. |
A month late but rather relevant now. I have seen a few shows and it is by far, the worst venue in Toronto. Bar none. I saw a Streetlight Manifesto show a week or so ago. The sound was atrocious for a place that calls itself the Sound Academy. Still a great show, but the venue didn't do much to help the cause.
But don't take my word for it:

BTW my favourite venues are Opera House and The Phoenix
