Ahhhh, Yerself Is Steam. One of the best psychedelic rock albums ever as far as I can see. It's be in my top 30 or so ever since I first heard it, and every single time I listen to it I hear something new that absolutely blows me away. Also, for being what I would call a primarily neo-psychedelic album, Yerself Is Steam covers so much ground it's unbelievable. Obviously there's a big noise rock and shoegaze influence on some of the tracks, which is fantastic in it's own right, but I even see elements of second wave post-rock in songs like Sweet Oddysee of a Cancer Cell t' th' Center of Yer Heart. Yerself Is Steam was honestly amazingly ahead of its time, the only album I can really compare it to off the top of my head is Boces, and even they have huge differences between them. Yerself Is Steam is just a straight up unique masterpiece, I actually bumped it up to my top 15 earlier tonight.

Sorry Mercury! Have to go with Yerself Is Steam on this one. Incredibly psychedelic. To me it sounds like Frank Zappa and Lou Reed wrote an album together. This is another of the many great discoveries I've made in this tournament so far.
EDIT: Does anyone know what iTunes has two versions of this album with different song lengths for the last two tracks? _________________

I'm a big Tallest Man supporter, but as good as Shallow Grave is, it's got nothing on the psychedelic madness of Yerself Is Steam. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
