About album of the day: The BestEverAlbums.com album of the day is the album appearing most prominently in member charts in the previous 24 hours. If an album has previously been selected within a x day period, the next highest album is picked instead (and so on) to ensure a bit of variety.
Absolutely beautiful. His selection of covers allowed him to beat the crap out of both Aretha Franklin and the Stones in one fellow swoop. Also, as hard as it may be for the non-listener to understand, several of this album's cuts were almost foreshadowing of early heavy metal. Tracks like "Ole Man Trouble" and "I've Been Loving You Too Long" possess saxy riffs almost as enormous as any Sabbath cut. To think that a modest pop singer could have done that in 1965 just blows my mind.
