Which band that has recently made and is still creating good music would you say is the best?
personally for this i like Radiohead, The National, and Arcade Fire.
I'd like to hear some different oppinions and some feedback.

Welcome to the site.
This has been discussed at length many times on these forums but for me, Muse, Elbow and Coldplay probably fit into this ideal. Although Coldplay's latest offering was not as good as their previous releases, they still are a high selling band. Personally Muse and Elbow are significant 2000s bands for me.

TV On the Radio and Joanna Newsom (she's a solo artist though ) have released consistently great albums over the past few years IMO.

Ghostface. Supreme Clientele, Fishscale, More Fish, The Pretty Toney Album, The Big Doe Rehab, Apollo Kids. Even his average albums are better than most people's best.

There were 4 bonafide geniuses and the landmarks of music in 00s: James Murphy, Joanna Newsom, Kanye West and Jack White. The pillars, if you will.
They helped shape the decade whilst reaching peaks within and stretching the confines of their own genres. So them for me (or their representative outfits (LCD Soundsystem etc)).
Also The Flaming Lips were amazing as they were in the 90s and probably the 80s (I don't know).

By the thread title my answer would be The White Stripes, but they aren't making music anymore. So in that case I guess Jack White himself. One of the few artists that was able to do something new and unique in the 2000's.
Some great bands making music today: The Shins, Manchester Orchestra, Cage The Elephant, Sleeper Agent, Radiohead, Iron and Wine.

Ghostface IS NOT a band. I think you have a problem.
For me, The Libertines
Actually nah, I'm not even embarassed by that, they are fucking good. _________________ Shut up mate you're boring!
