Which do you think its the best album closer that have been made?

For me it's Dark City, Dead Man from Somewhere along the highway by the Swedish band Cult of Luna. So emotional and fitting as closer in the album concept. Which i think is about a lonely man who commits suicide. Love that album so much. Mainly the music, but also the lyrics and the whole dark and sad atmosphere.

Other good ones:
I think ur a contra (Contra) Vampire Weekend
Sigur 8 ( () ) Sigur Ros
Amanita (Centipede Hz) Animal Collective
Seperator (King of Limbs) Radiohead
and of course A day in the life and Tomorrow never knows by The Beatles

When I ripped The Stone Roses from my dad's CD for some reason I Am The Resurrection never copied over so for a long time I thought the album ended This Is The One, and even now I think it works better. I love I Am The Resurrection, but it doesn't really go anywhere and sounds a bit like a jam session. The massive reverb heavy sounds on This Is The One, the big hard hitting chords and the sounds that end it all sound like a great end song to me. Much better than the boring fade.

But anyway, some great endings songs are...

The End - The Beatles (Abbey Road), although I think the medly at the end all counts.

Rock & Roll Suicide - David Bowie (Ziggy Stardust), great emotion behind Bowie's vocals, love the strings at the end.

Eclipse - Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd), possibly the best - great build up.

Find the River - Automatic for the People (R.E.M.) - I would say this because it's my favourite song.

Still Life - Dog Man Star (Suede), maybe a little too melodramatic for some - I think it's epic.

In The Backseat - Funeral (Arcade Fire), love the little tune at the end that slowely dies out. Although all of Arcade Fire's ending songs are perfect.

Epilogue - Hospice (The Antlers), makes grown men cry.

I'm a big sucker for ending songs and sometimes base how good an album is purely on that. In a way the whole album is building up to that moment. I always wanted to hear Eclipse on DSOTM but felt it would be wrong to not listen to the whole album before hand, making it just that much more worth it.

The Gorillaz fan in me supports the Don't Get Lost in Heaven/Demon Days dual closer.

But honestly there's only one correct answer I think.

here are some closing tracks that aren't only great to me, but that I think are the best on the album:

Black Flag-Damaged I
Black Flag-Scream
Can-Bel Air
Flipper-Sex Bomb
Gang of Four-Anthrax
Led Zeppelin-When the Levee Breaks
Love-You Set the Scene
Portishead-Glory Box
Radiohead-Motion Picture Soundtrack
Slint-Good Morning, Captain
Stooges-Death Trip
Talking Heads-Drugs
Velvet Underground-Oh! Sweet Nothing
Velvet Underground-Sister Ray
X-The World's A Mess; It's in My Kiss
Yuck-Rubber

huh, there weren't nearly as many of those as I thought there would be...

of these, I suppose Glory Box and Good Morning Captain would be in a tie for first

Tomorrow Never Knows
Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands
European Son
Veteran's Day Poppy
LA Blues
Bel Air
Bike
A Day in the Life
The Court of the Crimson King
The End
Twist and Shout (maybe not nearly as good as the others on this list but it is the best song of the album)

and probably some others I'm forgetting.

Knew DLGGLD would say The Stone Roses and The Strokes.

Anyway, it's clearly:

(actually, it's Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands, but that's waaaaay too obvious)
