- Post subject: Can you help me remember a song please?
|
I could have googled this myself if I had remembered the chorus. I made a mental note in the shop but forgot it later. All I have left doesn't give the answer on the search engines.
Perhaps I should start from the begining? I heard this song I really liked in the record shop. I was too busy listening to write anything down and subsequently don't know the who it was by.
I'm looking for an artist with a soft female vocalist. Perhaps Regina Spektor, Kate Nash, Ladyhawke, Fiona Apple, Laura Marling sort, not sure if that is much help as all of them are different. Like a flickering voice. One that you would more expect to whisper a power ballad than belt it out?
The actual song: What I remember from the first verse is that it was singing about a girl who wanted to have a baby someday. A line that has stuck with me was "And her name is... Carrie". I think that is the name but there was a definitate pause. I think the chorus was about getting to know the girl and not judging her or something. I think the chorus was addressing a guy as well.
Well that is all I have. Thank you to anyone who has any idea of the song

It's called "Manic Street Preachers Suck" by The Outlaws.

Nope, doesn't seem to be it.
Couldn't find the Tyler Perry "Oh Carrie" song either.

Sounds a lot like Call me Maybe by CRJ to me.
Hey, I just met you
And this is crazy
But here's my number
Her name is... Carrie!
Yep that sounds right.

Please Necharsian I might never hear the song again. The more I think about this more I'm searching.
You know a lot about 2010's (I am assuming it is new) twee female vocalists. Is there nothing else the comes to mind?
