Since when is a musical video about school lunch and hunger political? No country, party, candidate are mentioned. Aren't there plenty of musical videos that are actually politically centered? Please stop arbitrarily censoring.

The music forum is to "Discuss anything to do with albums, singles, bands, musicians etc." This is a parody song focusing strictly on The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.

Feel free to discuss the national school lunch policy here.

Interesting, the music video doesn't once mention The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. Should all music that mentions religion, war, politics, or God be moved to the Politics & Religion gheto to protect our overly sensitive members?

I'm guessing because it would be a clunky lyric.

Lyrics:

Give me some seconds
I, I need to get some food today
My friends are at the corner store
Getting junk so they don't waste away
My lover ate her 2 grams of meat
Just about to starve
My bread was taken by some school bully
Askin' bout s'more
And i know i gave up on food months ago
I know i'm trying to forget it
But between the milk and feta cheese
The pains in my tummy sing
You know I'm trying hard to find
nourishment

So by the time you go to practice
And you feel like falling down
I'll carry you home

Tonight
We are hungry.
Set the policy on fire
It can burn brighter
Than the sun

Tonight
We are hungry
Set the policy on fire
It can burn brighter
Than the sun

Now i know that this is not
All that you got.
I guess that I,
I just thought maybe we could find a
way not to starve today
But our friends are back
They are filled right up
Cause they found somewhere to find lots of food

Tonight
We are hungry
Set the policy on fire
It can burn brighter
Than the sun

Tonight
We are hungry
Set the policy on fire
It can burn brighter
Than the sun

Crawling home tonight
Just crawling home tonight
Crawling home tonight
Just crawling home tonight;

The cooks are on my side
But I have no energy to run
So will someone come and carry me home tonight
No nourishment arrived
But i can taste mom's meal
So will someone come and carry me home

Tonight
We are hungry
Set the policy on fire
It can burn brighter
Than the sun

Tonight
We are hungry
Set the policy on fire
It can burn brighter
Than the sun

So if by the time that it's all over
And you feel like falling down
I'll carry you home tonight

Maybe we should start a thread debating the definition of censorship.

Nobody is stopping you from discussing this video or sharing others. This is a case of organization. If it's political (this video is critiquing the amount of calories school lunches provide), it belongs in the politics forum. If there was a Cookie Monster forum, we'd put Cookie Monster videos there.

Seriously Naples - I think you need an additional outlet for your angst. The gym? A knitting circle? Bowling league? Maybe volunteer for your local Republican candidate's campaign?

Naples, you're not being censored. You just seem to be mad that your "music video" as well as this thread is being moved to the politics forum cuz you know the limited audience (mainly because users either don't want to bother talking about poltiics and religion or they don't want to visit the clogged-up "people argue and Naples posts endless campaign ads and political cartoons while endlessly crying wolf over "Censorship!"), and for some reason trying to make an argument that this is just a music discussion when it's clearly trying to make a political point. And you're clearly not interested in a "musical" discussion. Quit ya whining, you have every chance to say what you want. If anything you've gotten away with a lot, and that's only based on what Ive seen since I joined this site.

Censorship is the suppression of speech or other public communication which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient to the general body of people as determined by a government, media outlet, or other controlling body. Moving topics to the ghetto to hide or to suggest they are objectionable, harmful, sensitive or inconvenient is censoring. It was not moved to alphabetize but because the music was considered a political statement. Censorship -- the control of the information and ideas circulated within a society -- has been a hallmark of dictatorships throughout history.

As if we needed to proove that Naples posted this in a wrong forum just to be able to cry about censorship again. Seriously Nape, I don't know why you insist on posting on this dictator-run board, obviously with all the mods, all they're trying to do is suppress you.

One serious thing to say though. If this was still in Music, then I guess we could only discuss the musical aspects of it, but not the theme, which is what you wanted, right? And considering this "song" is musically shit, there wouldn't be much to discuss.
