Gotta give time to appreciate the album at least for me that listen to 2-3 albums a month I saw a documentary about how people these days use to listen to music, they download in seconds , don't even listen the whole album/song and if dont like they throw away, and because of that, the music industry tends to make music that caught the listener atention instead of doing fine music. Thats one of the reasons that most of the music today (and listeners) are fucked up. When i was a child in 1999 i went with my family on vacation. There , my friends introduced me to a CD of Nirava Nevermind, and that's what we had listen the whole vacation, we where addicts by this album, cause we didnt have much choice neither. In the 70's, a very known artist of my country said when the album Foxtrot-Genesis came out, he slept in front of the store to ensure that he would buy the LP.

At the moment I'm forcing myself to listen to the top-ranked albums on this site that I haven't heard yet. It's probably near 100 new albums per month, but generally I'm just trying to listen to whatever I want to listen to! _________________ "The Beatles, the greatest band known to mankind." - Bismah Mughal

I probably listen to 10-12 newly released albums per month, maybe two or three times that for older albums I've never heard.

listening cums in spurts. Last month and the month before were ridiculous: I found 10-15 new favorites each month and listened to at least three times more albums than that each month, most of which were decent to good. A lot of that is due to the year tournament, anothergreenworld2 being more vocal about recs, and the steady flux of recs from the frenchman. So far this month, I've only bought two albums (one of which was new to me), and have only heard about 10-15. I'm still kind of hooked on the plethora of favorites that I've found, with help, those past two months, so it's been slow this month. Here, my pokemanz, let me show you:
Women - Public Strain (from theharrisonfords)
Soft Moon - Soft Moon (from Scaruffi)
Sarah June - In Black Robes (from Scaruffi)
Grouper - Wide (from AGW2)
Grouper - Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill (from AGW2)
Grizzly Bear - Shields (new, picked it up)
Grizzly Bear - Yellow House (kind of a re-discovery; I'll give Cellar and loveless credit)
Xiu Xiu - The Air Force (from AGW2)
Natural Snow Buildings - Dance of the Sun and the Moon (from The Poe)
TV On the Radio - Return To Cookie Mountain (from everywhere, just finally listened to it)
Best Coast - Crazy For You (Pfork buzz band)
Wavves - King of the Beach (attached to Best Coast finding)
Neon Indian - Psychic Chasms (from HIPSTER RUNOFF)
Washed Out - Within and Without (from HIPSTER RUNOFF)
Small Black - New Chain from HIPSTER RUNOFF)
Flying Lotus - Until the Quiet Comes (new, just picked it up)
Ariel Pink - Mature Themes (new, just picked it up)
Animal Collective - Centipede Hz (new...)
Daniel Johnston - 1990 (I'll give credit for all DJ to Cellar and Norman Bates)
Daniel Johnston - Hi, How Are You?
Daniel Johnston - Yip/Jump Music
Daniel Johnston - Songs of Pain
Beirut - Gulag Orchestra (from hairymarx1)
Ty Segall Band - Slaughterhouse (from whoever likened it to Stooges in a thread here)
Salem - King Night (from Scaruffi)

Totally agree. Sometimes I get on a roll and end up checking out 5-10 in a month, but typically it's no more than 3. I listen to a certain album usually at least 10 times before I put it away for the first time. If I really love it, even more than that. My opinion is never fully formed the first time through an album. Or even the first few times.
I bet I've listened to Blunderbuss about 60-70 times already, and I haven't even spun it in the past month or so.

I've listened to each of my top 10 over 100x, at least (minus Have One On Me all the way through). Of the albums that I mentioned above, I've already listened to Women, Soft Moon, Grouper, Sarah Black, Grizzly Bear, Best Coast, and TV On the Radio upwards of 30x, in the past couple of months. Step up your game, son.
