I'd take the Stones if I had to choose, but sonically I think the Who have an edge with Keith and all that noise! One more point, I'd say as a songwriter Pete is better than Mick or Keith separate, but together STONES baby.

Definately the Who for me. The Stones are great and they have some of the best bluesy rock out there, but The Who come into line so well with single like "I Can See For Miles" and "Won't Get Fooled Again". Keith Moon and Pete Townsend are one of the best Guitar-Drummer duo, every time Moon does a fill it comes in time with Townsend's guitar, it's brilliant.
Best Who album: Who's Next
Best Stone Album: Exile On Main St.

The Who. No slight meant to the Stones, but those men were masters of their craft and Pete Townshend was possibly rock and roll's greatest songwriter. _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living. Silence is death.

Haven't been on here in a while...
I'd have to go with The Rolling Stones although I love The Who also. They're the missing link between blues and rock and the combo of Richards/Jagger came up with so many great songs. Honkey Tonk Woman, Under My Thumb, Paint it Black, You Can't Always Get What You Want, Rocks Off, Sympathy for the Devil, Street Fighting Man and Brown Sugar are all top of the line Blues/Rock Classics. _________________ "The future is unwritten."

Of course I am going with the Stones. They have one of rock music greatest song catalogs. The depth of quality of their is better. The Who were more complex but The Rolling Stones are not called the greatest rock and roll group of all time because they were complex.

Nice match, I'd say The Rolling Stones. More rock classics basically. Plus The Who didn't write Sympathy for the devil.

I prefer the stones and I think that they were more influential than the Who

In high school (1968), I remember that the druggies liked the Stones and the jocks liked the Who
