Two songs come to mind at this moment.

That funky bass compliments the awesome keyboarding to a T for the above song.

I love the bass in this song.

And I remember a motorhead song that had an amazing bass opener(either ace of spades or overkill)

Plenty good bass songs depends on the mood you're in

The whole remix album from Rammstein Made in Germany

Primal Scream- trainspotting

The battles - Atlas

My morning jacket - Victory dance

Mungolian Jet Set - Mush in the Bush

Symian - Chemistry is what we are

I could go on.....

They have similar openings but Overkill has the more obvious bass intro.

Check out Addicted to that Rush by Mr. Big.
Billy Sheehan is incredible on bass.

Sorry for double posting, but this would be irrelevant in my last post. I forgot one of the most amazing funk metal bands I have heard, Primus. I think Tommy the cat features their best song on bass.

Bass is usually unnecessary. It's often even indiscernible. Most acts don't use it very well and it can almost always be substituted with a regular old 6-string.

Adding to your list of bassists who have put credit to their instrument's name, I'm going to throw in Brian Ritchie of Femmes fame.
