that's based more on expectations than actually being a bad record.

It's tough to separate negative reactions that were based on high expectations resulting in letdowns vs actual crap. I've been supremely disappointed by followups to some epic albums, but the followups weren't actually that terrible when considered on their own.

My worst:

So stupid.

Lol. I liked God Shuffled His Feet but I never felt I was missing anything by not hearing their other albums.

I'm so sorry, but....

No.

It's okay not to like it, but unless you can give thorough reasons for it, it shows that:
A. You need to listen to more "bad" music
Or
B. You need to give it more chances.

As for me, though, I don't think any album can possibly be as horrid as Crazy Frog's Crazy Hits.

I've given it a few chances, and everytime it just makes me more mad.

A) Most of it sounds completely stupid and boring
B) I expected so much cause her other albums were so good, but this one was just rubbish.
C) She always sounds like shes trying hard to be innovative, and its always the completely opposite effect.

The Idler Wheel...

This album sounds like it was made by a irrational, childish girl on her first period after breaking up with her fiance. And It is fucking awesome.
This is the only non-African album I can think of that's completely hellbent on percussion besides Reich's Drumming.
Almost every chorus has a built in one-liner of badassery.

Take a quick survey of these motherfuckin' lines:
"Every single night I endure the flight of little white flame, butterflies in my brain... every single night's a fight with my brain"
"Seek me out! Look at, look at, look at, look at me! I'm all the fishes in the sea"
"Anything and anyone that you have done has got to be alright with me. If she's part of the reason you are how you are she's alright with me. Just tolerate my little fist tugging at your forest chest."
"I don't cry when I'm sad anymore"
"I could liken you to a werewolf the way you left me for dead, but I admit that I provided a full moon"
"Nothing wrong when a song ends in a minor key"
"All that loving must have been lacking something if I got bored trying to figure you out"
"My cheeks were reflecting the longest wavelength"
"And I kept touching my neck to guide your eye to where I wanted you to kiss me when we find some time alone"
"If I'm butter, then he's a hot knife"

AOTY 2012 ya'll

The Final Cut
Trompe Le Monde
Anything by Lil Wayne
Anything by Nicki Minaj
Anything by Soulja Boy

(just had to get all the bad rappers out of the way; I'll move on from pop music because I have a lot to say about it, obviously)

The White Album is pretty fucking terrible. Yup. I said it. Same goes for Beatles For Sale.
Boston's albums after the self-titled are all crap. But hey, when you sell 20 million copies or so on your first go, why would you even give a shit afterwards?
A Momentary Lapse of Reason. What an appropriately titled album since it perfectly describes what must have happened to all of them at the time they made it. Just imagine them talking about it. "Hey, David." "Yeah, Nick?" "This album's gonna be fucking fantastic, what a way for Pink Floyd to go out!" Jesus, thank fuck they did The Division Bell after, because even though that album was no magnum opus, it was a thousand times better.

I'm not sure which one I would actually choose.

Oh, speaking of Fiona Apple, I really hate her OTHER pretentiously named album. "When The Pawn... (five hundred words later...)" Seriously, I don't recall getting all the way through it, she bothers me.

Oh, The Suburbs was pretty fucking terrible, too. Keep in mind I'm the same person who has unending praise for Funeral.
