3. Arcade Fire with Neil Young
2. The Who performing Quadrophenia
1. Roger Waters doing the Wall in its entirety, complete with the greatest visual effects element I have ever seen in a concert (or practically any form of live performance for that matter). I had the privilege to see this one twice, one indoors and once in an outdoor arena
I like this thread! Let's see if I can find three:
1. Metallica (best song: Master of Puppets, maybe)
2. Iron Maiden (best song: No idea, the whole concert was a revelation)
3 . Judas Priest (best song: can't remember, Halford had awful vocals, but I enjoyed the concert anyway)
And that's actually all of them as well! The other bands I've seen are either moderately successful, or they are underground. In any case I almost never go to concerts anymore, I've always preferred listening to albums anyway.
Unfortunately, I have a fairly limited experience seeing bands live, but here goes nothing:
1. Muse- Citizen Erased (actual song)/Exogenesis Overture (for the beautiful performance)
Without doubt the finest concert I have seen, and they played my all time favourite song so happy days. Lightyears ahead of every other band I've seen live, and they put on such a display of lighting, staging and showmanship that's impossible to beat.
2. Foo Fighters- Everlong (music)/All My Life (crowd)
The favourite song of mine that was played was Everlong, but the crowd went crazy for All My Life, so I enjoyed it more. Again, good showmanship for Dave Grohl, and I loved the solos interlude half-way through the act.
3. Kaiser Chiefs- Angry Mob (song)/I Predict A Riot (crowd)
Seeing Kaiser Chiefs was big for me, as they're from my home town Leeds, but seeing them at Leeds was even bigger. Angry Mob is one of my favourite songs of there's, but I Predict A Riot was the maddest crowd experience I've ever had, by absolute miles. Everyone went absolutely mental.
For the bridge they had a 4 minute improvised freakout, crowd went nuts
2. Radiohead-Everything in it's Right Place
With Neil Young's "After the Gold Rush" intro. They ended it by looping everyones parts, while they each walked off stage untill it was just Jonny stage all by himself.
3. Jack White-Ball and Biscuit
Complete with the 3 guitar solo's, he just killed it. Also at the end he proceded to throw his guitar on the ground because he doesn't give a fuck.
How is that even possible? Halford is an amazing vocalist.
If by is you mean was, I certainly agree. This was on the Angel of Retribution-tour, and he had his ups and downs during that one, and he was way down when playing here, unfortunately. The rest of the band was on fire, though...well, the drummer looked bored, but he played perfectly.
In Life
1) Roger Waters - run like hell 2011
2) Robert Plant - Gallows Pole 2011
3) Iron Maiden - The Wicker Man 2011
On TV/Computer
1) U2 - Zoo Station (zoo tv from sydney dvd live 1993)
2) led Zeppelin - C'mon Everybody (Live at Albert hall dvd 1970)
3) Pink floyd - saucerful Of Secrets (Live In Pompeii dvd 1972)
The Zoo Station live show was quite impressive yes. To think that i voluntarily skipped the opportunity to go see it because I found the Zooropa below their standards and expected the tour to be boring ...
