Well, I can't think of any bands I ever said I "hated" that I now like since I don't really think the word "hate" can really apply to music or artists (unless you hate them as people), but there are a handful I didn't care for that have really grown on me:
Weezer (Most notably; I used to think they were just shitty nerd pop, and then I realized that their melodies are actually almost obnoxiously fun and catchy)
Oasis
Bob Dylan (I still only especially like Highway 61, but I do rather enjoy it)
Insane Clown Posse.
Modest Mouse (which ironically became my favorite band....of course I only disliked them when i didn't even know I was listening to them)
Green Day(not a strong like for much by them other than Dookie though)
It's strange how it only takes one song to click... then they all do!
Pixies
Nirvana
My Bloody Valentine
The Rolling Stones
The Smiths
Pavement
Here are some bands/artists that I've tried, tried, and tried but could never get into.
The Velvet Underground
Bob Dylan
U2
Pearl Jam
The Clash
Arcade Fire
R.E.M.
Joy Division
The Cure
Bon Iver
The Who
The Stooges
Vampire Weekend
Bob Marley
Grateful Dead
Elliott Smith
The Band
I bought The Velvet Underground's Velvet Underground & Nico and The Clash's London Calling so that I can give them a proper listening in the car. We'll see if they move up to the top list!
