So I have started (only a few completed) BEA playlists on Spotify for the site's top 100 per decade... for those that have spotify.

I understand that the charts change, but I did this more for me... but if you would like to actually listen to all those albums, most of them are available, especially albums past 1990.

You can just search BEA 1990 for example.... let me know if you find it and if you find this helpful.

I guess this is pointless since it seems nobody cares about it... but just to let you know I have all the decades complete on Spotify listed under:

BEA 2000s
BEA 1990s
BEA 1980s
BEA 1970s
BEA 1960s
BEA 1950s

The only problem is Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd albums are not available on spotify yet. I found this helpful so that if there is an album of the 100 listed in those decades I haven't checked out yet, I can just go check it out in those playlists. Should be published for all to see... if a brave soul wants to confirm... that'd be cool. If a braver soul wants to find an album on the list and listen to it, that'd be cool too.

Can't find them, and I searched for a few minutes.

If you haven't already: (1) click on your name in the upper right corner of Spotify; (2) click on edit, just to the right of your name on the main profile; (3) slide the icon next to each playlist until green is showing to publish it.

Also, post links here (because people are lazy): (1) right click on playlist on the left-most sidebar; (2) click copy HTTP link; (3) paste here.

Lastly, thanks for all your hard work. However, most of the forum users are entrenched on their own listening path, and will only take personalized recommendations if even that, so don't expect too many subscribers from the site.

I'm going to revive this thread for the general purpose of BEA users sharing spotify playlists. I'm aware that it's not available in Canada, but I think it is available in most of the other major countries represented on the site. I figure that users can share playlists as well as make requests for playlists they want to hear.

Another interesting feature of Spotify is that people can make collaborative playlists, where anyone who is subscribed to that playlist can add songs to it, and the playlist becomes a collective effort.

Anyways, I'd like to whore out my '80s pop list again: http://open.spotify.com/user/124242124/...myUDvwj9mf

And then I'd like to request a couple:

I'd like to request that harkan to make an Aussie playlist if he has time (I always want to hear your suggestions but watching individual youtubes and listening to whole album suggestions can be daunting)

I'd like to request ffuddnnebuh to make a playlist for his favorite songs he's discovered (again because it's always tedious listening to individual youtubes that you link in your threads, and this would also compile all of your finds in one place)

lastly, I'd like to see a collaborative BEA "sad songs" playlist. If this isn't made in a few hours and posted, I think I might start it up and post a link.

I suggest that users keep playlists to between 100 and 500 songs.

Thanks purple... The playlists were green, but I will post them here. Didn't know you could post the URL, so that's cool. Thanks again, and I thought you were a pompous prick, tisk tisk on me Smile. Actually most people that seem pompous at first are some of the most genuine people... anyways the lists:

Now keep in mind I created this for myself... and because the statistics are live, I have noticed the placement of the albums have changed. Also keep in mind that bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and the Beatles aren't on Spotify yet. But at the time of organization, here are the BEA lists (not my lists, but the lists according to the stats of each decade). Not really doing this so I can get people to subscribe, rather just an easy way to say... hmmm I have heard about that album, lemme take a look at it. I was illegally downloading stuff from Bowie for example to just find out I didn't like it and deleted it. Why do that, when there is Spotify, which usually has the entire album.

I am currently working on my "Art Music" project for the different eras of Medieval (500-1400), Renaissance (1400-1600), Baroque (1600-1760), Classical (1750-1830), Romantic (1815-1910), 20th Century (1900-1999), and Contemporary (1975-present) for those that want to venture into that world. Classify is the app I am using to explore. I wouldn't consider myself to have an amazing understanding of what you would call classical music, and more aptly put as "art music" as classical music actually refers to a specific time in "classical" music, but my brother is a conductor and I grew up hearing a lot of this stuff to at least know some good stuff worth sharing.

I also wouldn't mind someone who feels like they know their Jazz, Big Band, Blues, etc. from the 1900s through 1950s to bridge that gap in music history through spotify playlists.

I feel like through Classify and this site I get everything, but the above suggested time period.
