I really want to like this album, but regardless of how ahead of time it was it all sounds the same to me.

I love this whole album a lot, but the problem is that a good amount of it pales in comparision to Teenage Riot. Teenage Riot is such an amazing track and they don't do the rest of the album much justice by putting it with a bunch of not as good tracks.

Of course, I still love everything about this album, but Teenage Riot is obviously a standout.

Strangely, I liked it the first time I heard it more than the second time. I'll give it a third listen and see how it settles in.

It took me a long long time to get Sonic Youth... lucky for me, I had a boyfriend in the 80s who was well into them, so they had the chance to grow... and grow they did! Laughing

Daydream Nation is a fantastic album and well worth exploring if you don't know it well.

I think I prefer 'Goo' and 'Sister' but it is a close call and does change depending on what mood I am in.

I had a large article about this album in my school newspaper about a year ago. This album is nut's, although I do think that sister is a stronger album. The reason why people think that Teenage Riot is above the rest of the album is that it's the most accessible song on the album. It's a pretty standard Indie Alt-Rock song(although it's an amazing one) while the rest of the album is alot more "Soundscape-y" and very influential on the post rock genre.
