Ok album. By far their weakest effort. Whenever I start listening to it I just realize that I could be listening to one of the other 2, and change it.

I actually like this one a bit better than Funeral.
But Suburbs is their best.

Different to both you too - Better than Suburbs, not as good as Neon Bible.
The more I listen to this album the more emotional and powerful it gets, whereas The Suburbs just becomes more and more like daft pop. Funeral will always be their masterpiece though.

Personally I think it is weaker than Funeral and definitely weaker than The Suburbs (their masterpiece if you ask me, with amazing scope and variety) but still a truly remarkable work from really talented musicians. The lyrics are more assured and ambitious than their debut and the influences more obvious (hi Boss), while the darker sound makes for a couple of surprising and impressive moments (Black Mirror which sets the tone for the first half of the album, Intervention). What I feel is the only real issue is that it sounds a little bit... out of balance. Sometimes it gives the impression like they could use more complexity in their instrumentation to get maximum results (the title track is a good example), and sometimes, well, they overdo it (Antichrist Television Blues). That said, when it finds its place, it's beautiful and realised, like the rest of their albums. My favorite tracks in here are the ones including cars in their title, although Ocean Of Noise is really nice as well.

No Cars Go and My Body Is A Cage are both amazing tracks, and the rest of the album is pretty great too. Not at the level of Funeral but a worthy follow up.

Happymeal <------------ Doesn't like Arcade Fire
My opinion is, it's not any worse or much better other albums, but that's not saying much. I find their worst album to be Funeral though

This puzzles me, as I find Funeral to be their most accessible. What exactly about it don't you like?
