A lot of people get (album) for the song (song) but get a real good album

A lot of people get Led Zeppelin IV for the song Stairway to Heaven but get a real good album

A lot of people get Hotel California by the Eagles for the song Hotel California but get a real good album

A lot of people get The Downward Spiral by NIN for the song Closer but get a real good album

Any other you can think of?

The ones that spring to mind that I bought when the singles off them were released

Radiohead The Bends for High and Dry

Oasis Definately Maybe for Live Forever

The Stokes Is This it for Last night

Damien Rice O for cannonball

Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Drean for Today

Come on Feel the Lemonheads for Into your Arms

Soul Asylum Grave Dancers Union for Runaway Train

And quick edit as I almost forgot the most important one, as it was the first album I bought that got me into music, R.E.M. Out of Time for Losing my Religion.

Yes, that's the purpose of singles (at least, in the vast majority of cases in recent years).
