Funny how all of these examples come from early on in their career.

If the writing comes to you naturally that way just let it come. Nothing a little wordsmithing can't change later. Then again, if ever it feels like betraying yourself, then fuck it. Better witty than sold out.

Man, you have to cover Dream Weaver by Gary Wright à la you with adapted lyrics. You know such as ...

"Dream Weaver I believe you can take me through the night"
change to become
"Neil Weaver tequila can take you through the night:
(Come on, who will pay me a round)

Your audience will love it and you may get a few free drinks extra (or get the ladies to throw their panties - just don't invite your mom no matter how supportive she is of you LOL). Build a mystic around your live act man, be outrageous, be like Freddy Mercury, make sure they have a good time and not forget you. The quality of your repertoire will do the rest.

Dude you are some kind of talented. I love the juxtaposition of like acoustic indie pop and hip-hop, and your lyrics are wonderfully witty. I think the comparisons I've been seeing to Belle & Sebastian and Morrissey are more than appropriate. Also your voice is pretty great and your rap skills undeniable. Man I wish I could write songs like you. This is really impressive

I must apologize, I'll get to this eventually, time has not been on my side recently.

This, DBZ's review makes me really want to hear it, but I have a lot on my plate at the moment. I will listen though, it sounds amazing.

It's all there, in the info for each separate song on Bandcamp. Help came from my friends Bangatang and Dock Mini (both really great electronic/hip-hop producers), as well as from other friends, including MelverneArkady (who is an infrequent user of this site, and responsible for one of my favourite charts). But yeah, it's all there on the site.
