I don't see how you could really do it, considering how option the bottom of the top 1000 changes.
I guess it depends on what you mean by "it" when you say "do it". If you were to get to the point where you've listened to all 1000 albums in the top 1000 at a particular point in time (which wouldn't be hard if you keep listening to a few in the top 1000 you haven't heard each day) then it wouldn't be hard to keep up with any album that enters the top 1000 after that (assuming you check back often enough).
I totally get why Blue Lines is favored by a good number of people, but the creepy, shadowy atmosphere of Mezzanine is one of the reasons I love it so much.
I think this could be dramatically improved by shaving off just a couple of tracks. The first Exchange ruins the flow, and Black Milk is way too similar to Dissolved Girl. Drop them and it's a fantastic ride into the shadow of your darkest mind-hole. The eerie production, songcraft and lyrics on this are otherworldly. Not a perfect album, but easily earns a place on my chart.

Wow... those might be my favorite tracks along with "Inertia Creeps." I will say it feels like it loses steam towards the end, but this still feels like an incredibly dark, sexy album through and through. They really took the sound that Portishead and Tricky's solo work accomplished previously, and then slowed it down a bit more while keeping the trademark feel of a creative collective like their previous albums (though I miss Tricky and Shara). I do enjoy both Blue Lines and Protection more, but this is a cherry on top of a body of perfect '90s output for me.
