Mercurydylan89 is continuing his frenzy with anniversaries every day, so I thought why not making a thread where we come up with our favourite album that has 10/20/30/40/50/etc. (don't know what this series of numbers is called) anniversary this year? Anyway, I did. Here's my list of favourite anniversaries that fit these smooth numbers:

50th anniversary (1963): Please Please Me - The Beatles (congratulations Party)
40th anniversary (1973): The Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd (time flies!)
30th anniversary (1983): Secret Messages - ELO (don't know enough great albums from this year)
20th anniversary (1993): Siamese Dream - The Smashing Pumpkins
10th anniversary (2003): Absolution - Muse

Congratulations to all of you! Party Drunk Boo hoo! Dancing Very Happy Cool Love Angel Applause Razz Party Dancing

According to my chart, I would go :

1963 : The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
1973 : Selling England By The Pound by Genesis
1983 (the greatest year ending with a 3, for me) : Violent Femmes
1993 (second best 3-ending year) : So Tonight That I Might See by Mazzy Star
2003 : Elephant by The White Stripes

My favorite kind of years are the years ending with 7, 8, or 9, for some reason. My favorite albums were mostly released on those years.

Haha. I know this feeling too, it must have something to do with 1967-1969! Very Happy

Yeah, of course, but 77-79 (Talking Heads, punk, reggae), 87-89 (MBV, alternative, hip hop) and 97-99 (Neutral Milk Hotel, Built To Spill, Sigur Rós, Air) were totally awesome as well. Strange...

According to my (often innacurate) decade charts:

1963: Charles Mingus - The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady
1973: Can - Future Days
1983: Daniel Johnston - Yip/Jump Music
1993: Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
2003: William Basinski - The Disintegration Loops II

I need an album from 1953 though, so I just added Black Coffee With Peggy Lee to my wishlist
