Finally. My favourite Wailers album, and the closest to perfection they ever got. 'Duppy Conqueror', 'Small Axe' and, in particular, 'Pass It On' are my favourites, though every track is great. 1973 was a stunning year for the group, with this following Catch A Fire as their second album that year. This is the last album with both Tosh and Livingstone (Bunny Wailer) on, and they share vocal responsibilities (Bunny's lead vocals on 'Pass It On' are pretty much the best male reggae vocals ever got outside of Gregory Isaacs), which I believe was something that later Marley albums missed. This is also before the production became too polished as Marley was being pushed to become a global superstar. If you only ever get one Marley/Wailers album, make it this one.

i still have this on cassette, i bought this and black sabbath volume 4 (not at the same time), at truck stops around 1990. i always felt so lucky because those places usually will have only one or two if any choices besides country or other baddie shit. _________________ the lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it ~ Paul Gleason
