They're rebooting Godzilla AGAIN! Come on. Can they at least make it a sequel to King Kong?

It's got a killer cast though: Elizabth Olsen, David Strathairn, Bryan Cranston, Sally Hawkins, Ken Watanabe and Juliette Binoche.

We don't really need another Godzilla film at all but that cast is enough to get me excited.

trailer for GRAVITY the new film from Alfonso Cuaron (director of the masterpiece CHILDREN OF MEN) looks stunning, if only I found the 2 stars more interesting.

The only one I know is Bryan Cranston. Just saw him in John Carter.

bit disappointed since you're a self-professed 'film buff' but since you are interested in film I'd reccomend you see the following films to know who the others are:

Elizabeth Olsen - Martha Marcy May Marlene
David Strathairn - Good Night And Good Luck
Sally Hawkins - Happy-Go-Lucky
Ken Watanabe - Letters From Iwo Jima (You actually probably have seen him - he's in The Last Samurai, Batman Begins and Inception)
Juliette Binoche - Trois Couleurs: Bleu

Minor film buff. I'm not a major until I see 1,000. I've seen 400. I don't pay much attention to the actors, but rather the directors, producers, distributors, composers, sometimes editors, and special effects people.

Fair enough, I've never seen you mention any of them though. I never trust anyone who says they pay more attention to the crew than the cast (equal attention, sure) since the cast are the first ones billed at the end of a movie and the ones on posters etc. They're as important as cinematographers, editors, production designers etc (take any of those people out and you don't have a proper film).

Although I would say that having knowledge of film is often about the quality of films you see, not the quanity. Rather like posting on a forum.

I still reccommend all those films I mentioned though.

Watch literally anything with David Strathairn. One of the best actors of all time, IMO.
Heck, he was even amazing in Sneakers.

Would you guys consider me to be a film buff? According to RYM (http://rateyourmusic.com/~Cubbierill) I've seen only 882 movies, but my top 100 (http://www.imdb.com/list/yts2fzBBsx4/), I have great appreciation for everyone from Bergman to Godard to Tarr to Lynch to Wood to Linklater. And I would like to think that I have fairly deep-rooted knowledge of the European New Wave.

You would if you were watching Juliette Binoche.
