Šarlo Akrobata were a cult band from Belgrade, Serbia (then Yugoslavia). They only existed for a short while, but remain one of the most important and influental bands of Yugoslavia.
The band consisted of three members - one of them, Milan Mladenović went on to form Katarina II, later renamed to Ekatarina Velika, which was (and still is) one of the most popular Yugoslav groups. The second one, Dušan "Koja" Kojić went down the more experimental post punk/art punk route with Disciplina Kičme, whereas the drummer, Ivan "Vd" Vdović, played in several prominent bands (including Katarina II). Milan and Ivan both died in their thirties (in 1994, 1990 respectively).
This band's music was, I guess a combination of Milan's melodic touch and Koja's tendencies to experiment with the sound. Their only full length release was an album "Bistriji ili tuplji čovek biva kad" (1981), but they are probably more known by their 4 (more accessible) songs written for the "Paket Aranžman" album.
I wish the people who voted also commented. It would make my life easier.
Sarlo Akrobata sounds like an interesting band, would avoid voting till I at least listen to all of the songs loveless posted.
If I decide Chrome is still better, then I'll start coaching (that's a lie actually, but still). [If anybody has heard a good amount of stuff from both bands and decided Chrome is better, please be my...err, assistant.]
I have listened to what loveless has posted, and though it's okay, it doesn't compare to the two Chrome albums I know IMO. Therefore, I have voted for Chrome.
