Hey, everyone! Sorry for the kind of pointless question, but my OCD is getting out of control. I just picked up a copy of George Harrison's All Things Must Pass (brilliant album, by the way; I'd heartily recommend it to any Beatles fan), and I noticed that the last 5 tracks (the "Apple Jam", as it's known) is in a different order from the vinyl. Namely, "Out of the Blue", which was originally the first track of the 5, is now the last. Does anyone know why they changed this? I'm asking because I'm really insistent on judging albums based on their "definitive" track lists, so I was curious as to whether this was a change Harrison wanted or if it was just the music industry being the music industry.

I generally trust the wiki page, I've noticed this before, too

I've found I can't always rely on the accuracy of wiki pages with this sort of thing but this one seems to be correct. Out of the Blue was moved to the end for the 2001 remaster, apparently as Harrison originally intended.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the way song quality is determined by the order the tracks are sequenced and things like that on vinyl. Honestly it's not something I have too much of an understanding of and I'm not the biggest fan of the Apple Jam as is: I prefer to pretend the album ends with "Hear Me Lord", personally.

I don't love the Apple Jam disc either but it's decent for what it is.

Well I don't HATE it, put it that way. But for me, it kind of wrecks the album's flow and ends things on a kind of sour note, so I definitely wish "All Things Must Pass" had been kept to a double.

Oh, derp. I looked up the wiki page and just didn't even see that part. Thanks!
