So, as of this posting, We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace and Magic and Amok, and m b v are almost in the top 1000! After only 4 months into the year, all three albums have had less than that much time for exposure to the music listening community.
How do you think these quick, high rankings reflect the quality of the music in the year 2013? Or how do you think this reflects the mentality of the music listening community, provided its critical acclaim / positive reception to these three albums?

We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace and Magic was a fun and Amok was interesting. Neither struck me as being particularly exceptional, although do feel I need to listen to them more. I haven't check out m b v yet.

We are the 21st Century... is the the only one of the 3 that i like. But even it sounds like a modern band doing 70s covers. none of these albums are deserving of top 1000 spots this quickly. It doesnt speak tot he quality of music, but more to the desire of BEA users to feel like they have an impact. hoepfully these albums will regress, and the site will remain to be a decent barometer for the greatest albums of all time.

m b v was in the top 1000 already, and also, all of these albums achieved their rank earlier.
Honestly I don't understand the idea that an album has to be out for a certain period of time before it earns the right to enter someone's chart (remember, this is what the system on BEA is). If I listen to an album for the first time, it's new to me, it doesn't matter whether it has been out for 20 years or 20 days.

None of them are horrible so I don't exactly mind, but I can't say I particularly like any of them.

The Foxygen album was really really boring, haven't heard Amok, MBV was mediocre besides Only Tomorrow (not a great song, but it's catchy), Who Sees You (becomes boring at the end, but every single track on the album does, and most of the song doesn't feel as boring as the others), and Wonder 2 (the only interesting track on MBV, it's a mess and not as good as Soon maybe, but it gets better with each listen and works really well as a closer)

Just to clarify - the "system" as in how we determine the overall chart
