Which do you like more?

Personally, Star Trek's a great franchise, but I like Star Wars more because the plot is less complicated and they got the freakin Force.

Also, what do you think of the new Star Trek reboot series? What do the BEA Trekkers or Trekkies feel about it?

Star Trek. And it's not even close, as far as I'm concerned. Empire Strikes Back was a great film, but otherwise the entire Star Wars series is appallingly overrated.

As for the reboot series, I rather enjoy it. To be fair, I'm not really a true "trekky" (or however you spell it), but I've seen a hefty amount of older Star Trek, and the reboot seems to be on par with it, as far as I'm concerned. The first of the two, in particular, was an outstanding movie.

Hands down Star Wars ! But the originals (without special editions of 1997, geeky I know ...) not the Phantom Clone crap !

But ! Star Trek themes and idealism of the future are most impressive.
JJ Abrams' Remake from 2009 is really amazing ! And I look forward to see Into Darkness (hasn't been released in Europe yet but NO SPOILERS please)

Star Wars has had one amazing movie (Empire Strikes Back), three decent/average movie (A New Hope, Return of the Jedi, Revenge of the Sith), two terrible movies (Phantom Menace, The Clone Wars) and one that was so abysmally bad I will never speak of it again after finishing this sentence (Attack of the Clones).

Meanwhile Star Trek has had six amazing movies out of twelve, four decent ones, and two terrible ones.
Additionally, there has been numerous TV series which all average out to be either awesome or decent.

In case you hadn't guessed.... Star Trek. Star Trek is my vote.

Just to clarify, the "six amazing" ones are:
Wrath of Khan, Voyage Home, Undiscovered Country, First Contact, Star Trek, and Star Trek Into Darkness

The "four decent ones" are:
The Motion Picture, Search For Spock, Generations, and Insurrection

The "two terrible ones" are:
Final Frontier, Nemesis

I actually wrote an article on this recently for WhatCulture...
