It's hard to tell if any of these will stand the test of time, we'll only really know 30 years from now when the cool new bands start namedropping, isn't that how it works? I mean who seriosuly was listening to Nick Drake or The Stooges when they first came out, nobody that's who...

My fav's no order:

Haven't heard as much from this decade as others, but here goes a top 5...

!. Strokes- Is This It?
@. Spoon- Kill the Moonlight
#. White Stripes- Elephant
$. Radiohead- Kid A
%. Arcade Fire- Funeral

Pretty generic, and I've only started listening to Merriweather Post Pavillion and Moon & Antarctica in the past couple days...

People have said there's nothing groundbreaking going on this decade, and though I haven't heard much from this decade, I think this is a decade of the tightest batch of albums of any other decade I've heard. Yes, it's not as creative as earlier decades, but very pleasing to listen to. It's funny because even though the 00s are a "song" culture I think earlier decades depended on basing a good album on three or four good songs (while one or two might even be skippable) and from what I've heard of this decade there are more cohesive albums, but without those songs of intense creativity.
