Father Christmas

Lyrics:
When I was small I believed in Santa Claus
Though I knew it was my dad
And I would hang up my stocking at Christmas
Open my presents and I'd be glad
But the last time I played Father Christmas
I stood outside a department store
A gang of kids came over and mugged me
And knocked my reindeer to the floor
They said:
Father Christmas, give us some money
Don't mess around with those silly toys.
We'll beat you up if you don't hand it over
We want your bread so don't make us annoyed
Give all the toys to the little rich boys
Don't give my brother a Steve Austin outfit
Don't give my sister a cuddly toy
We don't want a jigsaw or monopoly money
We only want the real McCoy
Father Christmas, give us some money
We'll beat you up if you make us annoyed
Father Christmas, give us some money
Don't mess around with those silly toys
But give my daddy a job 'cause he needs one
He's got lots of mouths to feed
But if you've got one, I'll have a machine gun
So I can scare all the kids down the street
Father Christmas, give us some money
We got no time for your silly toys
We'll beat you up if you don't hand it over
We want your bread so don't make us annoyed
Give all the toys to the little rich boys
Have yourself a merry merry Christmas
Have yourself a good time
But remember the kids who got nothin'
While you're drinkin' down your wine
Father Christmas, give us some money
We got no time for your silly toys
Father Christmas, please hand it over
We'll beat you up, so don't make us annoyed
Nobody makes songs for Christmas anymore- that is, Christmassy songs about Christmas (in recent memory, I can only recall The Darkness song)... I think that's why we've had to listen to the same ones for years.
But there are a couple of less played songs that sound like Christmas to me:
Put a Little Love in Your Heart- Al Green & Annie Lennox
Keeping the Dream Alive- Munchener Freiheit
I'll Find My Way Home- Jon & Vangelis
The Manic Street Preachers released a "christmassy" song recently Well by released I mean given away as a free download. Its more recent than the Darkness one though (the manics one is 2007). Enjoy!
The first Christmas album from the legendaryFolk/Rock singer/songwriter. Christmas In The Heart is Dylan's 47th album. In a commitment to ending hunger, all of Bob Dylan's U.S. current and future royalties from sales of Christmas In The Heart will be donated in perpetuity to Feeding America, guaranteeing that more than four million meals will be provided to over 1.4 million people in need in this country during this year's holiday season.
I don't really care for most Chrismas music-all sounds the same. I do, however, like greensleves and Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride Link
I especially hate when rock artists make Chrismas albums. Almost always bad (who wants to hear a Blondie christmas song? Not me...) _________________ "I'm so ugly but that's OK cause so are you"
