Post subject: Kings Of Leon are The Beatles of today.
Let's face the facts. These guys are big and they are staying a long time. Look at the hit albums... perhaps there are better ones to come? Very likely. 'Sex On Fire' and 'Use Somebody' are massive hits and I can guarantee those songs are more well known by today's youth than almost every song by The Beatles. Who wants to be singing to song from the 1960's anyway? Artists need to be relevant. They are endanger of going out of fashion like a clothing line. Out with the old and in with the new. We need to be looking up to bands like Kings Of Leon to take the mantle of the Greatest Current Rock Band if we are to move forward.
The same could be said for other popular rock bands like the Foo Fighters. It is kind of a meaningless statement.
This. Also Kings of Leons popularity was waned in the mainstream recently. If you're gonna make a statement like that, at least use a popular band. Fun. or Mumford and Sons would fit the mantle better.
Although obviously, all of the bands mentioned are in a level far lesser than The Beatles IMO

Kings of Leon aren't even that popular, the hell are you talking about
Honestly, consider how well the Beatles still continue to sell, it wouldn't surprise me that the Beatles have sold more records this decade than Kings of Leon. So their songs might not be "more well known to today's youth" whatever that means
I don't even remember what "Sex on Fire" sounds like
Lol

Lol The Beatles were the second best selling artists of the last decade apparently, with 30 million records sold. So much for going out of fashion (which of course should be everyone's barometer for determining an opinion on music, obvs.)
Not only is the OP's opinion terrible, he's actually objectively wrong. A+ thread if this is a joke
And I don't even listen to the Beatles that much
EDIT: Sorry to sound like a jackass but it seems mystifying to me that someone on a music forum could argue that an artist's intrinsic value to an individual is either rendered nonexistent or greatly mitigated by factors external to the music such as fashion or trends of the time, etc. So if this thread isn't a joke I would like to for the OP to explain why he thinks this.
