Anyway, I don't know what you think about it, but I'd really really love little descriptions of the sound of the albums nominated. We all know mood always dictates what we listen to, and if the nominations had genre tags or things like that, it would be much easier for me to choose which one to listen to according to my mood. That way, I could just scroll through the list and pick one that would fit.
About my nominations, The Undertones' self-titled is 70's pop-punk, with a sound which is pretty similar to The Buzzcocks', and True Live is a hip-hop band with live orchestral instrumentation and poppy elements. |
I'll add a column to the link list for that, good idea.

And yeah, genre or mood tags would be cool...As for my two noms, What I Want From You is Sweet is really dark gothic chamber folk. Maison Rose is really chill psych folk. Folk folk folk. Meow.
Edit: Haha, folk, Joanna Newsom-like. I clearly only listen to music that is Joanna Newsom-like.

Here's what I wrote:
Zhou Xuan - The Legendary Chinese Hits: 1940s Mandarin pop style called Shidaiqu. Songs have both Chinese and European influences. Very expansive, but worth listening in small portions.
Afrirampo - We Are Uchu No Ko: Noisy rock from two rambunctious Japanese women. This album is relentless and may wear you out by the end.

The matches should be starting in a week or two, tops. I've already got someone to replace joj's two nominations, but he still hasn't sent his picks, so I'm gonna wait on that.
