Which song do you think should be awarded the song of the summer:
One song most be a "real" song of the summer, by "real" I mean mainstream success, everyone loves it, no matter the taste. I'll ran a pole based on UK and US single charts. The pole is based in these "type" of songs
If you hate the song, please let us know why.
The other song could be whatever you want

I'm just gonna put some songs here that have defined summer for me and the people I've chilled with, the first of which I think fits your definition of mainstream song of the summer:
EDIT: The poll wasn't up when I started posting, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered including 'Get Lucky' obviously. That Robin Thicke tune is another good shout.
Also, this is a summer banger, despite the fact I only discovered it in the last couple of days:
So if I understand you correctly, your song of the summer is a non-mainstream non-single song from last winter that you didn't even include in your own poll?
Two songs of the summer
1) with mainstream success
2) whatever other song you love
I think I explained it. But if not, I think, now is clear _________________ "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming"
I went with "Get Lucky", it's a very nice song and very catchy, and it makes me feel relaxed in the summer weather, so it deserves a vote. "I Love It" is also cool, but I get more of a night club feeling with that one. Also, it was originally released last year, so I don't know if I feel it's as eligible as other songs, at least in my area. As for non-mainstream stuff, I've haven't listened to any such thing from 2013...well, not anything that makes me think of summer, at least.
Much much bigger Daft Punk fan here, but objectively, "Blurred Lines" will be the song people will remember summer 2013 for, although I personally prefer some of Robin Thicke's earlier music.
My song of the summer is a tie. Axis by Pet Shop Boys and Her Favorite Song by Mayer Hawthorne

I voted Blurred Lines since it's so ubiquitous, I dig the song, and the video paired with the lyrics has caused quite a bit of commotion. I probably like Lose Yourself to Dance for this summer the best though; Get Lucky is great too. Holy Grail and Can't Hold Us are nothing on the pop spectrum. I love I Love It, but it's pretty old too, just now gaining popularity like Like A G6 a couple years ago, which had been released about a year before it was big.
Anyways, when I think summer song, for some reason I always think back to Rill Rill in '10.
