I really hate the name of that band. It sounds weird in my head.

Going by the overall band rankings on this site I would say the 10 most overrated are:
The Beatles
Radiohead
Led Zeppelin
Nirvana
U2
Oasis
Pearl Jam
Coldplay
The Strokes
Muse
The Beatles and Radiohead are great bands, but they both have too many albums in the top 25 in my opinion. I don't really have a problem with The Beatles at number 1, but I think Radiohead should be at least a few spots lower. Most of the other artists I mentioned are good, but they are ranked ahead of many other artists I personally consider to be better.

Nirvana - I love them and they were hugely influential, but if you actually look at their catalog, they don't deserve a top 10 ranking. Had Kurt lived another 10 years, I probably wouldn't object.
Oasis - Again, I really like them -- they were a huge influence on me in high school, but they had one great album (Morning Glory) and one very good album (Definitely Maybe) and then gobs of mediocrity. That should barely get them into the top 100. Their primary rivals, meanwhile, are mired down at #62, despite being an obviously better band.
Arcade Fire - One of my more recent favorites, but it's just too early to be ranking them in the top 10. We need at least another 10 years of perspective (and another few albums) to call them an all-time great.
The Beach Boys - The argument here is similar to Nirvana, except in this case the lead guy only went nuts. Their influence was huge, but their catalog is a bunch of bubblegum plus one great album (Pet Sounds). It's like if you cut off the Beatles' catalog at Rubber Soul.
U2 - Ugh, I'll just plead the fifth on this one.

I'm just gonna leave out some people like U2 and Oasis who are foregone conclusions at this point on this site at least.
1. The Beatles. Yeah they're important, made great music, all that jazz. Personally I don't see them as much more than a really good band who were in the right place at the right time.
2. The Sex Pistols. See the description for The Beatles, take out all mentions of good music and talent.
3. Daft Punk. Homework is their only really great album and they haven't made a near decent studio album since Discovery which is just pretty good. I may be feeling extra negative feelings towards them lately since RAM is so big right now, but that's my current view on Daft Punk.
4. Joy Division. I don't know if I can chalk this up to just not getting them, since they have some songs I really love, I just don't think Joy Division and I are meant to be together. I've tried so hard to like them and still don't
5. The National. I absolutely adore some National songs, but as an album band they've never done it for me. I do plan on trying to listen to them more and see if I can get more of an appreciation for them, but as of right now I only really like a few songs of Alligator.
Edit: Oh wait, I was just looking over the thread again and remembered Nirvana. I would put them in over The National actually.

Trying to go outside the easiest answers.
1. Pavement
2. Oasis
Okay I already failed.
3. Kanye West
4. Sex Pistols
5. Smashing Pumpkins
I only went for artists which I failed to enjoy a full album.
