Well, Smashing Pumpkins was basically Billy solo. He did everything on the records except drums because he was an egomaniac perfectionist. If he could have played drums as well as Chamberlain, he would have recorded them by himself also _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

iirc that was only Siamese Dream.
I think Mellon Collie was more of a team effort. Not sure about their other albums, though.

As a JD fan, I'm terrified that Ian Curtis would've tried a solo career if he was still around. You know, New Order goes one way and maybe he and his guitar try and make a name for themselves. I just don't think it would've worked. At all. _________________

Anthony Kiedis of Red Hot Chili Peppers. As much as I love him and admire how great he is in RHCP, there is no other band he would work well in, in my opinion.

Yeah as far as I know Siamese Dream was the only album where that was the case. But the point is well taken, for the most part Smashing Pumpkins is Billy Corgan et al. Although I think without Chamberlain Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie would have been a fraction as good as they are.
I think Robert Plant would never have made it very far solo. I've never been a fan of anything he's done outside of Led Zeppelin. That ensemble as a whole was just a perfect fit.

The result was actually pretty damn awful. _________________ May we all get to heaven
