Don't like it. The songs I don't like are exactly the ones that make this one famous. I think disses are not clever verbally (maybe except the last half bar of the Takeover) and also not interesting musically (the hook being a really dated monotonic trite and the flow just seems like a pendulum, bad rhyming most of the time; awful song overall, why the fuck do people like it I cannot figure for the love of holy Flying Spaghetti!!!). The beats on the half of tracks are straight examples of banality. The fucking thing doesn't have content most of the time as well. This is the most reactionary album of all-time and the fact doesn't help it at all. That said I don't hate it. Not at all. I just hate roughly the first half. In fact I love one or two songs (Heart of the City, Renegade).

Rivals Reasonable Doubt as Jay Z's best album. Standout tracks for me would be:

1. Heart of the City
2. Renegade
3. Never Change
4. Takeover
