I love it. It's pretty cliché to say that, but I think that's where shit got real for The Beatles. Also, In My Life is their best song.

One of the Beatles' best.
In My Life stands as my second favourite song, and brings back memories of walking through belgian streets at night with a good friend of mine singing it together to pass the time.
I'm only young, and nostalgia still gets me.

So good. There was such a huge improvement between Help! and Rubber Soul.
Though I love Michelle and Drive My Car a lot, I love more the Lennon and Harrison songs on this album, Norwegian Wood, Nowhere Man, Girl, In My Life and Think For Yourself, If I Needed Someone (the latter is one of my all time favourite song by Harrison)

John Lennon completely owns this record, his songs are leaps and bounds beyond anything the other Beatles were writing at the time, improving on his work for the album Help!
Paul McCartney still sounds a little caught in the past, and George Harrisons genius is just starting to show, but I don't think John Lennon ever wrote better songs than the ones found on this record - just before he started taking himself a little too seriously, whilst just maintaining that perfect balance of introspection in his tone and lyrics.
It's a good thing he's the prominent figure on the cover.

Hmm.. never thought about Paul actually delivering the weakest contributions to the album (besides Ringo ). Still, "You Won't See Me", "Michelle" and "I'm Looking Through You" are fantastic, but they don't quite match "If I Needed Someone", "Nowhere Man" and "In My Life". The cover is creepy for having John as the only one starring into the camera. He was so badass! _________________ "The Beatles, the greatest band known to mankind." - Bismah Mughal

Favorite song here is probably The Word, but it's all pretty great. And yeah, I'd say Lennon is the best on this album. Harrison's songs aren't too bad either. _________________

Paul was actually not very prominent around that time, but he's really invisible on A Hard Day's Night.
Me...I love Rubber Soul. Such a cool album, a great turn in their sound, and a really solid group of songs. _________________ May we all get to heaven
