Not one of my all-time favorites, but this was a lovely movie from 2013 that I felt got a little overlooked:

It stars Matthew McConaughey in an outstanding performance and a couple of kids who are rather strong performers for their age. Definitely worth a watch if you get a chance.

I'm having a hard time thinking of many movies quite like Lost In Translation

Virgin Suicides, Chunking Express, Talk To Her come to mind for some reason.

Maybe you should just watch My Winnipeg sine you're Canadian and that movie does not get the credit it deserves

For anyone else interested, here's my list of favorite movies http://www.imdb.com/list/_tMxRtoa3rI/

Some lesser known gems i'd recommend:

The City of Lost Children (a strange French fantasy)
My Winnipeg (documentary/fantasy about the bizarre characteristics of the city of Winnipeg. Poetic)
Enter The Void (disorienting, shot in the first person, based around Tibetan Book of Dead philosophy)
The Magician (an early classic from Ingmar Bergman)
Fitzcarraldo (epic tale of madness and ambition)
Barton Fink (one of the Coen Brothers most underrated films)
House (Hausu) (some say it's like a live action Japanese Scooby Doo)
Videodrome (indescribably weird)
Suspiria (colorful, dreamy Italian horror with one of the all time greatest soundtracks)

One of my all-time favorite horror films. Some other dreamy/atmospheric ones you could try if you haven't already:

House of Usher (1960)
Kwaidan (1964)
Vampyr (1932)
Eyes Without a Face (1960)

Also, my favorite giallo-like films:

Don't Look Now (1973)
Deep Red (1975)

Is it solipsistic in here or is it just me?

Check out Jean Epstein's version (1928). Haunting, and a great example of the French arty avant-garde.
