I've been trying to get into more BEA albums, and I thought this thread would be a good way to get some suggestions. What are your favorite BEA albums? I've heard nine, but only five are great:
Blue by Hayden Who - Although not heard by many on BEA, I believe Hayden Who's "Blue" is a legendary album that mixes the genres of jazz and electronic and molds the masterpiece with hip-hop and avant-garde elements. This album is currently in my top 50 albums of all time.
Best tracks: Going Somewhere, Old Friends
Who's Masquerade - When I first heard the album, I put it kind of low, but it wasn't bad. After the second time, it's peak is in 120/293. Great album with fun rhythms and "Loveless" style vocals that are spoken rather than sang.
Best track: I Want To Build A Blanket Fort With You And We Can Live There Forever
HArK by Brad Harkan - I may not be an expert on ambient electronic, HArK ma be the very album to get me into it. HArK is one of the better albums by Brad Harkan, getting better as you progress through it by keeping a single sound through out while displaying diversity.
Best track: Potassium Hydrude
Hellion EP (Rockyraccoon) - Although Rocky and I are not fans of the inagery, I have to admit that this EP was diverse, well produced, and really should've been longer.
Best track: No Half Measures
A Vessel For My Ineptitude by Neil Weaver (Lethal) - An album with a strange mix of folk and acoustic hip-hop, this alone makes the Neil Weaver album one of the more unique albums on the site.
Best track: Moving Down the Line
EDIT: When listing bands, can people tell me which user(s)appear in that band?

Out of the very few I've heard, definitely going with A Vessel. Just an utter joy to listen to. _________________

I'm hosting my 5th annual CMJ showcase tonight in Brooklyn! Sounds like Arts & Crafts, NY Times, Spin, and Rolling Stone might all be there! _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
