Pink Floyd released The Final Cut in 1983 and it's pretty much one of the most underrated album by them, next to Meddle. I find The Final Cut 10 times more brilliant that The Wall, it's a much more darker and pessimistic album than any other they have done.

It's basically a Roger Waters solo album, it is so like him. The shouting vocals and rough heavy guitar riffs.

It is probably the most political attacking album ever made.

Who else has a love of The Final Cut?

Used to be my favourite Floyd album. Love the lyrics, love the tone. Favourite songs are Paranoid Eyes, Gunner's Dream & Final Cut. Don't rate it as highly now, but it's still wonderful. Have you heard Waters' solo stuff? If you like Final Cut, I highly recommend Amused to Death, Pros & Cons of Hitchhiking, and even Radio Kaos if you're hardcore.

No I haven't heard any of Water's solo stuff. I definitely should check it out.

I have this album both on CD and vinyl, and I like it a good bit (more than Wish You Were Here Shocked ). Still, it would definitely be a stretch to call it the best Pink Floyd album

I don't like it as much as I used to, but I still like it quite a bit. I don't know where all the hate comes from.

Me... probably.

I do try to hate it at least once a day.

it makes my head hurt, and I think of it as the album that killed Pink floyd proper. And so it occupies a place in my mind akin to a man who'd run over my pet kitty with a steam roller.

Pink Floyd emerged from England's hippy scene in 1967 formed by Syd Barrett on guitar and vocals, Roger Waters on guitar, Nick Mason on drums and Rick Wright on keyboards and joined by guitarist David Gilmour as Syd Barrett's health deteriorated.
