Okay so here is what this is, we pick a relatively obscure genre(decided by you), then we try and delve deeper into the genre. Basically the idea is that an album needs to be given to go ahead by three users then we add it to the op, a sort of *insert chosen genre name* bible so to speak, the aim is to get as many albums as possible added to the op. We can expand it then into labels, artists, sub genres etc. Would anyone be up for this?

Definitely. My musical knowledge probably won't allow me to contribute much, but the results could bring a lot of interesting discoveries to everyone here.

So like, say I want to learn more about Dark Ambient. The first one that comes to mind is The Terror by the Flaming Lips, but I'm not sure that fits entirely.

If anyone has a better way of conducting this please feel free to say, I mean this just came to me in a moment of incredible genius. It'll probably fall apart after a few weeks, these things always do, but hey if we each find one great album it will be worth it.
To Drakonium:
That's the idea, no one will know much about it. We will have to discover the music ourselves, research and trawl the internet for albums, when we find something of note we share with everyone else, when three or more people approve we put it in the op.
To Nutso:
When I say genre I sort of mean a set of loosely defined characteristics, i mean if two other people approve it will be put in the op. I really just want to listen to a load of obscure music from a crazy genre that I never heard of so I can impress hipsters.

What if there was a genre of the week or something like that? To be honest, the idea seems so good it could be something definitely implemented in the site like the AOTD, etc. Well I don't know actually, but I think it will need a structure to be efficient, with time limits, and maybe a new thread for every genre, with links to these thread in a stickied post or something. Wow I'm actually really excited for this, could be really fun.

This will be very healthy for my inability to determine genres. I'm up for this idea.
