All right, so it's slowly approaching winter (and Christmas, obviously), and I've been wondering what your favourite winter/Christmas songs are. If I get enough responses I will hopefully build a big winter playlist which will just make me feel very festive.

Here's an obvious choice, but it's just so fantastically layered and harmonised that it's hard to not feel happy when the "I was following the pack..." kicks in. Brilliant.

This isn't necessarily a winter song, but it definitely ticks all the boxes. The angelic harmonies (like in White Winter Hymnal), the catchy 'ooh's and 'aah's, and of course the sleigh bells. Just has a snowy feel to it.

And of course... Svefn-g-englar. It just sounds so cold that it's hard to avoid when thinking about winter.

These aren't exactly Christmas songs, but these are songs that just remind me of the beauty that is Winter:

I was kind of thinking Saeglópur or Glósóli but then there was too much Sigur Rós.

Both. But it has to have an element of beauty to it, such as Svefn-g-englar, that makes the coldness combine really nicely. If some of your black metal chosen actually sounds like a wintery song, go for it (if by any means it reminds you of winter).

More happy, festive songs such as White Winter Hymnal and Bros make me feel better, but I want other people's opinions from this rather than what I would like from it.
