One of my favorite Opeth records; really enjoy it.

This is decidedly more melodic that what came before it and doesn't really qualify as "metal." I guess having Steven Wilson hanging around the studio is bound to impact you eventually! I like Opeth best when they blend the prog and the metal, but Damnation deserves credit for being the first Opeth album I really liked.
