Drinking is bad, m'kay, but fun. And Im wondering about people's favorite types of wines and spirits because were obviously superior sophisticates who don't drink beer like the wretched philistines next door. well, actually, yeah we probably drink beer too, it's alcohol after all. Anyhoo, silly poos, what's y'alls favorite wine and spirits? Given I pretty much only go Jameson, stolchinaya and Yellowtail so it would be interesting to get some new reccomendations.

and make sure to drip some grey goose in the bathroom while you're at it

I don't like alcohol, so I only drink to get drunk. The only exception is pastis, this beverage is fucking awesome.

Probabaly the best bottle of wine I've ever had is a chateauneuf du pape, but I couldn't tell you which vineyard it came from; best bottle of liquor I've ever had is probably Johnny Walker blue.

My go-tos for liquors are Johnny Walker black for blended scotch, 1800 or Don Julio anejo for tequila, Hendrick's for gin, Maker's Mark for bourbon, Crown Royal for rye, Kraken for dark rum, Bacardi for light rum, and Tito's, Dripping Springs, Enchanted Rock, or Deep Eddy's for vodka (all those are local Texas brands). Lately, my favorite cocktail has been negronis.

My go-to for wine is honestly yellowtail varieties for getting drunk and if it's for a meal then I just spend about half an hour finding a couple bottles with the right balance in my head between year, variety, origin, and price. I've never really gotten attached to a vineyard, but my favorite varieties are something like tempranillo, grenache, shiraz, petite syrah, and blends containing those. I look for something dry, earthy, not too fruity, and something with at least a taste both in back and front. I could do a moscato on a hot Texas summer day.

Don't really have a single go-to beer, but I'll typically go Bohemia or Negra Modelo for Mexican refreshment, Great Divide's Hercules Double IPA or Dogfishhead 90- or 120-minute IPA for something hoppy, St. Bernardus Abt. 12 or Chimay blue for something rich, Guinness on some days, 512 wit for a plain unfiltered wheat, Blue Moon for a fruity wheat, Old Rasputin for a stout. Of course, as a Texan, I'm obligated to drink Shiner, and I enjoy their hefe, Cheer, and Ruby Redbird. My favorite type of beer is definitely a plain, unfiltered wheat.

I hate red wine and can only stand white wine if it's Italian or sth, you know because they taste kinda dry and does not have that disgusting apply or rosy taste.

Rum is the best! Spiced rum and coconut rum. Maybe my fav drink is coke-spiced rum cocktail, 50-50. 7-Up is also a good chaser if you wanna take it straight. Not my style though. Also not with Bacardi. That tastes like shit. I like 1 barrel because of its tobacco hints; captain is also nice too. Also discovered this cocktail recently which is just in another level; has an awful name though, banana hammock. There's this cocktail with coconut rum and a banana+coconut cream+pineapple juice too that you should try; I know, it has a girly look, but I just make them home. Although sometimes I just wanna get drunk but I don't want to like it so I just drink vodka. I don't know about different kinds of vodka though, I think I prefer the citrusy ones. They go well with very sour lemon too. I always try to resist adding lemon drops. Laughing Complicated stuff. Actually that reminds me of scotch and whiskey which are really complicated stuff. I used to have a very classy hip flask that I carried with myself and sipped scotch all day. I'd reached a level that different single malt bottles form the same brand tasted drastically different. Fuck you melis, made me throw the flask away. Was a very different person back then. You should see how I'm writing this. Laughing I need my cokerum right now!
