Weren't My Bloody Valentine formed in 1984 in Dublin, Ireland? Irish Free State left the UK in 1922. The Republic of Ireland hasn't been part of the Commonwealth since 1949.

Yeah, but they moved to and made all their music in London shortly after they formed, and were always apart of the UK scene.

I think that it doesn't really matter where they are living but where the majority of the members of the group were born.
