Why,on this website does everybody rave about the Faust album?
Also Trout Mask Replica isn't as good as specified (IMO), neither is Rock Bottom. This is just my opinion. Mabye I'll have to listen to them in a more in depth way, I don't know!

PS. What are the most farout albums ever. Can someone post some here for me. Would be well appreciated. Cheers! Cool

'far out' is quite vague criteria. If you are you talking exclusively about pyschedelic rock, I think Beefheart is a great suggestion.

But, IMO, other genres do psychedelia better than rock, for example Juan Atkins and Sven Vath are incredibly far out but in another sense, it's just really dreamy and trip-like electronic music. Better known than this, perhaps Ennio Morricone, Brian Eno or Kraftwerk. All not rock, but music that takes your mind to a different plain and if that's what is meant by 'far out', it does it's job perfectly.

You've already rated these two albums but Dark Side of the Moon and Kid A are great albums which to me sound 'far out'. Give them another listen if you're interested. I would also have to recommend The Beatles' underrated gem of an album Magical Mystery Tour. It's not quite as mysterious as the two I already mentioned but still far out.

SamTheMan, Faust is one of the trippiest records I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. If you haven't checked it out yet, you should give it a try (or a few). If that doesn't do it for you, check out Faust IV(1974). Also very far out but not quite as odd.
