I find it unlistenable today, but I'll be honest and admit 14 y-old me loved it. Which gives to "With or Without You" one of those very emotional nostalgic undertone.
I'll save this record then.

I want to burn this album to a stake. I hated this album from when I heard Bono's fucking pretentious voice yelping over actually pretty good instrumentation. Though I never finished it, I have no intention of finishing it, despite my rule of judging it when listening to it all the way through. That'll risk my eardrums being surgically removed with a chainsaw. _________________

Well it's good. Not very good, but good. Nowhere near the piece of shit some people compare it too, but nowhere near the masterpiece some other claim it is, IMO. Just good. I should re-listen to it though, it's been far too long.

To me, U2 has always been a slightly more tolerable version of Coldplay, but this record is actually really good. The first three songs are a knockout sequence of tracks. _________________

Maybe. I just have this overwhelming amount of hatred towards Bono (the other members deserve better). Though I'm aware I'm a hypocrite, because I love Coldplay, who's taken huge influence from U2. But, I just don't like this album or Achtung Baby for that matter (I might dislike that even more). _________________

I've never been a big fan of Coldplay, because their music sounds like they want to be U2 so badly. (Although I do like their first two albums) And what is so bad about Bono? He has a huge ego, yes, but what makes him any less talented than the other members? "They deserve better"? Really?
