Oh no, I feel so angry. Grr...

What shall I do? Everyone hates ambient. My life is so unfulfilled.

oh good gawd, like we needed Happymeal's... more evil twin. Anyways this thread along with that Real-Life Non Fiction thread from way way back (2012) by Musicmantsu should be the prime example of how not to start pointless, bear-baiting threads about genres you don't even try to respect or have any interest in actually discussing.

Anyways here's some good ambient that even the OP might enjoy

Is it just me or is the Ambient Music Genre a load of crap. It sounds like someone is using their lack of creativity to make lazy music. It is always slow and it is not popular. This genre only exists due to the laziness so prominent in this country today!

Any replies to my opinion would be appreciated!

It might be you. because pop and rock music are also lazy. There is extraordinary ambient stuff as well as crappy drony ambient stuff. the same goes with pop music. we are selective in both genre.

What a load of absolute pish. There are good ambient albums, there are bad ambient albums. Your ignorance is astounding.

This is an old thread, and I think the acct that made it was a joke to begin with, like they have Shaggy - Boombastic as their number 9 greatest album. Which is crazy cause that's not even the one that has "It Wasn't Me" on it.

i've come to need music that's gentle on my ears

there are some albums I reach for when I don't want to hear music that's too harsh or busy

Kyle Bobby Dunn - And The Infinite Sadness

Biosphere - Substrata

Wolfgang Voigt - Rückverzauberung 10 : Nationalpark

Stars of the Lid - Avec Laudenum

Steve Roach - Structures From Silence

Most of the best music of the last 22 years which is probably the best music ever is electronic music with a whole lot of ambient in it.

Then there are albums like Thursday Afternoon and a bunch of albums from Robert Rich, Steve Roach and Geir Jenssen that are pure ambient that are pure beauty and genius and might be better than radiohead, autechre and richard d james.

Then there is basinski who has many great albums.

The whole rock genre only has like 12 great albums and half of those are speed metal

I understand this comment was made with tongue (typing finger?) firmly in cheek ("tongue is to cheek as typing finger is to...", erm, palm?), but Hot Shot is all kinds of dope.
