Detroit-based singer Harvey Thompson traveled the world building a resumé as a vocalist of jazz interpretations. From Motor City jazz joints to Japan's concert halls to Washington D.C. and elsewhere, Thompson finally recorded his debut disc in his forties. This self-financed 1994 release on his own HT Records contains 10 soul-stirring renditions of jazz standards and obscure tunes delivered with pizzazz and echoes of Thompson's jazz heroes Johnny Hartman, Billy Eckstine and Joe Williams. It is available on ebay.com
