Alligator Records released this sixth album by the NOLA blues guitarist, Kenny Neal, in 1994 (Cat#: ALCD 4825). The dozen tracks here remind this listener of Robert Cray. The riffs are decisive and filled with emotion. "Carrying The Torch" name drops some historical bluesmen and is a fine trip trough blues history. The core group is supported by The King Snake Horns on about half the songs. If you aren't familiar with Mr. Neal I recommend you check him out. Authenticated on discogs.com
