Loved it as a concept, but some songs are hit or miss for me...
Strayed a tad too far towards trad for my own personal tastes at times, and I found the discordant outro to be a little grating, but 'False Lankum' really pricked my ears up on a first listen and there's some really beautiful tracks on there, such as 'Newcastle' and 'Lord Abore and Mary Flynn'. Overall, to me it felt like modern Irish folk mixed with Big Thief for some reason.
Has some really nice highs and a more solid theme to the album, but the attempts to move between extremes is a little grating on the ears and I think could've been done smoother. Favourite song is Netta Perseus.
