Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.1/100, a mean average of 68.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.2.

This one hurts. Danny is one of my favorites, Atrocity Exhibition is one of the best albums of the 2010s, of rap, just in general. I've loved pretty much every album of his up until this point. But this is just not good. None of the songs are that memorable, and the ones that are, are memorable because of how cringe worthy they are. The screaming on 1999 makes my skin crawl, the spoken word poetry from Angel Prost on several of these songs is just god awful. My main complaint with this album is that Danny feels like he's a guest on the large majority of these songs, with the exception of Book of Daniel and 1l0v3myl1f3! It doesn't really feel like a Danny Brown album to me. The production is fairly focused, I thought with all the guest features, it was gonna be a mess. But there is definitely a niche that is forcefully being carved out here. I'm just not into it.
